ZOMG. ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG. EIGHT WEEKS LEFT. Two months!!! HOLY…BALLZZ!!! I was emailing a friend of mine – she’s due in like…two weeks! I can’t believe how quickly this has all gone by – I feel like it was just barely August and I was telling people about the bundle of joy about to come into our lives! Eight weeks is going to fly by especially with all there is left to do and schtuff.
How I’m feeling: Not horrible. Not great. A slight improvement but baby is definitely making his presence known. I’m also afraid I’m developing the all told pregnancy waddle. Lots (well, not too many) of braxton hicks contractions - which are definitely more and more noticeable and more and more uncomfortable, it used to be that if I drank water they’d kind of go away but I’m not finding that solution nearly as much any more. That makes me sad. Also, I’m getting winded more and more, but I’m still trucking up those stairs. Every freakin’ day.
Baby is… the size of a large jicama! He weighs roughly 4 whole freakin’ pounds. He should be heading into the head down position soon, we have our last ultrasound at 36 weeks to make sure. Things are probably getting a bit more cramped in there as baby keeps growing and growing and growing. Also, he now has fingernails, toe nails and a bit of peach fuzz hair – lets hope baby Schmidt has his daddy’s full head of hair right out of the womb because I didn’t have hair ’til i was close to a year old or so.
Baby Stuff bought…mostly organizational stuff. We’ve gotten A LOT of amazing hand me downs since my shower, and now we’re in full on organizational mode of everything and making a list of what we still need, and all that fun stuff. There’s not much we need but little things like a diaper caddy, a carrier for when he outgrows the Moby Wrap that we got, things like that. But we had shower #1 (which was AMAZE-BALLS) and my pal S is planning a small co-ed one here in Naptown for us in early March which will be tons of fun.
Fun facts…we’re 98% certain we’ve picked baby’s name. But we’re not telling anyone (in case we change our mind) – mostly to keep some element of surprise. AND I bought Baby’s coming home outfit. I wanted something that was new and fresh and while we got a lot of GREAT outfits for baby at my shower (and I will be bringing a few of them to the hospital because we all know that I’m known to change my mind), none of them were the dream “coming home” outfit I envisioned in my head. So I splurged. Just a touch – though it was on sale so it wasn’t a *huge splurge*. I know he’ll probably only fit into it for like a week, but I’m okay with that. I’ll put him in it every day til he outgrows it, it’s that freakin’ cute.
Also…still wearing 95% all maternity clothes (exception: stretchy lululemon clothes and long cardigans) and I should also state that I may never go back to wearing regular jeans. Ever. Still eating (too much) taco bell, and getting loads of heartburn from pretty everything I put in my mouth these days. Except for milkshakes. I could live off those – especially from Sonic.
