30 Day Shred – a Review

by Heidi on March 9, 2009

I’ve been MIA – battling a sinus infection, the onset of allergies. I’m a little more than 2 months away from Marathon #1 of this year and less than a month from registering for two big races – the Philadelphia Marathon and the Army 10 miler.

Have I ran? No. Whoops?

I also still haven’t gotten plane tickets home. Crap.

However! I have been working out.

Recently I purchased Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred as I’ve heard amazing things about it.

A week and a half in and I noticed my triceps? Not quite as jiggly as they used to be. I can actually feel muscle forming. Incredible!

It might be a 20 minute work out, but it certainly kicks your butt – she uses the 3-2-1 method – 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio and 1 minute of abs. The DVD has 3 levels (I’m doing level 1 for this week then moving up to level 2) and the workout is about 20 minutes long – closer to 25 minutes with stretching and warmup.

All in all, I’m going to keep using hte 30 day Shred as my XT/Strength workouts. It’s definitely a video I’d recommend for anyone who needs a little extra motivation or someone who doesn’t have a lot of time to go spend two hours at the gym every day.

Buy the DVD @ Amazon.com $9.

Yay, Philly Marathon! I did this last year. Cold, but a great course! Jillian’s program sounds great. Sometimes a 20-min. workout is all we have time for!

I’m trying to decide on a fall marathon yet. Possibly NYC…

I’ve heard great things about this and once I start doing more of the off running day workouts I may have to grab it. I’ve got a bunch of FIRM DVDs that are great too. Boot camp type stuff with the cardio and strength mixed. I definitely recommend those.

I’ve been doing level 1 2-3 times a week for a few weeks now and it’s been kicking my butt. I tried level 2 on the 3rd day and quickly went back to level 1 to stay there until it felt easier. It’s definitely a great workout!

oooh – sounds like a good video. I have been a slacker lately. The GS cookie business kicked my butt, literally, and I was too spent to even do WiiFit. I have a 10k 3/29 – and I wanted to at least jog some of it – to improve on my walking it last year. I have been the suck though.

Keep up the great work – and inspiration!

I keep hearing about this. I guess I’m going to have to try it.
