Week 7 of the Shrinking Jeans…

So we’re at week 7, I had been holding steady at 142ish and was struggling to lose that extra few pounds.
Yesterday I stepped onto the scale and it showed a happy 139!!!!

Today, I step on and it says 140. Still though, last week I was at 142, so all my hard work has paid off.
I haven’t been keeping as adamantly to the workouts I list off for myself, however, in the last week I’ve gone to spinning twice, lifted thrice and ran twice. Not too shabby all things considering.

For the next week, I’m shredding today, running tomorrow, Friday I’ll lift and do yoga, Saturday is off though I might go for a run to break in the sneakers I just ordered. Sunday I’m running a 10k here on Capitol Hill. Monday will be a slow run, Tuesday I get a massage and then Wednesday I head up to Vermont. Thursday I’ll probably go for a short run, Friday I’ll relax as I might go to see my dad and some friends 3 hours from my mom’s house then Saturday I’ll come back, carbo load and rest up for my race which is on Sunday.

I’m reconsidering doing Philly, if only because I don’t know if i can fully commit myself to training during wedding season – where mine is in 4 months and I’m the maid of honor one of my best friend’s wedding in November a couple weeks before the race. I might stick with the half marathon and focus on doing Boston in the spring. We’ll see, I’ll see how this race goes.

Either way, I need to lower expectations and not beat myself up when I don’t make it to the gym.

Goal for next week? Be below 140, cut back on carbs, and run a sub 1 hour 10k this weekend. All very realistic. :)
